Anyone else thinks 6.5 is too much?

I won't give it more than 4.0. Though they are marvelous actors I just didn't feel the lead cast that binding. Even more, I felt the rest of the cast totally sub-standard or at least thats what it appeared. The director apparently didn't do good enough homework.

No.

I gave it a five. And I am usually pretty forgiving, and like Wes Cravens stuff, and could watch Rachel McAdams sleep, but.. Dunno what happened here.
Thought the whole thing was preposterous, maybe even more so than TAKEN 2!
But even that doesnt always spell a low number in my review department.
Even though my signature addresses the concept, I've given plenty of ludicrous stories a 7.
Perhaps its because I seem to have a dislike for Cillian Murphy?? From the get-go in 28 DAYS LATER, thought somebody else could have done a better job in SUNSHINE, didnt buy him as the scarecrow guy in BATMAN, etc. I just seem to get this smug, smarmy, snot vibe out of him. Actually he didnt bother me in IN TIME for some reason. Maybe Im becoming desentized to his schtick!

"Pffft, my suspension of disbelief has higher standards than that"

reply

Way to much. It felt like a Lifetime Original.

Yes, Murphy does come off as smug, but I think he's a great actor and plays villains well.

My partner also dislikes Murphy; he said it's not because of his attitude (though it doesn't help) but because of his face (it's aggressive, in a very pathetic way). While I don't agree, I see what he means.

Nope

I just replied in the other thread complaining it is rated too low. I gave it a six so I do not think the average is far off from what I was thinking. It was entertaining and not overly long.

I gave it a 6, which to me is a failing grade. 7 and above means I liked it enough, 6 or lower means I didn't. This would have been a 5 had it not been for the last half hour of action, the plane scenes bored me and have been done so many times. I am shocked this movie made decent money.

Yes, 6.5 is too generous.

reply

Not at all.

Nice short runtime, some tension building, good acting from McAdams and Murphy, decent enough production values plus a few funny moments. It's entertaining.

Solid film.
