is it too late? I don't know proably could have done a good two any plot ideas?

In one sense it might not be too late (Murphy and McAdams are still in fine shape, both physically and career-wise), but, outside of a small cult following, I don't know that too many people remember the film.

Craven definitely wanted to do a sequel at the time (he had a vague idea involving Jackson and Lisa being thrown back together to do some kind of job for the CIA or something - sounded vaguely Dirty Dozen-esque), but something got in the way - maybe Scream 4, I'm not sure.

Nowhere was it shown that he died. He was very much alive the last time we see him..
