Martin Donovan

As a huge fan of Martin Donovan - the artist and the man - I went back to see this film in which he is credited as "Executive Producer". I love the dialog and the voice overs are some of the most organic and lyrical I've ever heard.
So, I was wondering - Ruth Sachs the credited writer never wrote anything else - before or since and Dan Ireland the sensitive director of this movie is not a writer with credits to his name - So, I felt there was a mystery here until I read on this boards a quote from Dan Ireland : "Me and my co-writer Martin Donovan..." What?

Joan Plowright waking up and calling her dead husband's name. The voice over as she delivers a letter to her daughter and how she turns down her elderly suitor are worth the price of the rental. Great writing.

Don't miss it and I would like to know how much Martin Donovan had to do with that.
