I'll substance over glit anytime

What a wonderful slice of life. Rupert Friend was a darling. We women get old but always appreciate someone taking the time to appreciate that old does not mean invisible. Grandparents are, and always have been, a wonderful influence on grandchildren. Understand, not all grandparents and not all grandchildren. These two characters needed one Grandmother and one Grandson at that moment in time and they filled their roles perfectly. Watching roles filled perfectly is what movies is all about after all, and the was a movie; one that you could watch every year a enjoy it every time. Perfectly cast and wonderfully written.

This movie made me smile the entire time...in fact, halfway through my cheek muscles were hurting. I love the under current of their relationship, a connection between them that was never talked about but was there nevertheless. It left me thinking in another life these two would be the real thing, but as it was not to be in this life, it's a grandmother/grandson bond for now.

I laughed. I cried. I laughed some more...cried some more. What a lovely little movie.
