I had a small part in this, with my wife, at the comic book convention, and subway scenes. (She was a "goth girl" in the Deep Ellum scenes... ) Arturo was really great to work with. He appreciated all the people that came to act in the movie. He bought us lunch and talked with us and gave us the details of what he had envisioned for the whole premise. His wife, Debra who teaches drama in college, was also very excited to see her work become reality on the big screen. Their excitement was contageous: for we all tried to do the best we could to make it some good days of filming in Dallas. I heard that it will be Summer 2006 before it breaks out in a real premier. I want to see it myself because it was fun, and I share their concern over making a movie that adults can enjoy: for the "kid" that still lives within us all that loves a fantasy/adventure. I have some great digital pictures of the days of filming.

Thanks alot for sharing your story, Joe! I wish I could do something like that, sounds like fun and a great learning experience. I'll keep my eye out for this movie for sure. I'm a big Amy Jo fan, so I look out for anything she's in and rather she was in it or not it always turns out to be a really good movie, so I cant wait. Thanks again!

Thanks for repying Startla! It's great to hear that the project is still moving through and about your friend being an editor. I can't wait to see his work n it as well as everyone who worked and were apart of this film. Again, I'll keep my eye out for it.

The review on imdb implies it's related to Boondock Saints. Granted, the name Veritas implies that itself. Is it a sequel, prequel, related in any way?

reply

Not related in anyway. This is family filmish.

Ok, so it's been about a really long time when or where can this movie be seen?

reply

Thought maybe it would go straight to video by now but it isn't listed anywhere. Maybe in December?

Debi Ruiz Esparza is my teacher and she said that some info is going to come on February 22.

I'm in Deborah Ruiz-Esparza's acting class and I've heard from her that as of now, it's just showing at the AFI Dallas film festival on the 24th and 25th of this month. The 24th is totally sold out, and the 25th is hard to get tickets for - you just have to watch AFI's site, they keep adding more tickets. I don't think they have another venue planned for it anytime in the future, yet.
