I bet this movie has skewed views on the Church

Basically the Bible tells us that we have our own free will to reject or accept, so why has denominations taken control? Why is everyone on this board defending a Church and not God Himself? I am a Catholic, and I do not condone this behavior of preists, but they will be forgiven jsut like any other sin. I for one will not watch this movie because Ted Danson is a *beep* actor, not because it's most likely going to bash the faith in the fun of all these people that think all Catholics are the same, I mean *beep* people, believe what you want, if you know God, then you're saved, how you worship, or what denomination you are makes no difference. Same goes for Works. Blasphemy is the unforgivable sin, if you die with it. I think you all need to recall Romans 12:2 and not conform to the customs and behaviors of this world.

Strange, I recall Anton LaVey's Satanic Bible making those exact points. Not that it was satanic by christian definition; it pointed out the flaws in christianity more than anything. It seems ironic that the religion considered 'good' is one that says it's okay to do anything (except not believe, or be gay...), because god forgives. yet the religion considered 'evil' basically says it's okay to do what you want to do, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. Religion is odd.

I'm sorry, but I highly doubt that you'd stick to your opinion if your son/daughter was molested by one of those priests...

I doubt it has skewed views. More like real views.
Still, I don't understand why the kids stood still for it. I LOVED Father Eddie, my mother worked in the rectory to defray the cost of my lovely education. He died when I was 10, then this snarky priest showed up. I couldn't believe it when he told me, "Father Eddie's dead, I'm here now". I said to myself, he MUST die. I asked him if Jesus was God. He fell into the trap, I then pointed out if God could make the Universe, then Jesus, being god, should be able to make the loaves and fishes from nothing also. I compared him to the Great Ballantine. He was always on the "Ed Sullivan Show", I thought he was a pretty great comedian, not magician. Father Timothy ran away and I never saw him again. I later heard that he molested some of the kids.

Also, the boys on the football team were terrible about bullying the other kids. And I would regularly beat them up. I really fight dirty. No Marques of Queensberry rules for me. Of course my cousin, Eugene, who was a foot taller than me, let the priests at his catholic school molest him!
