The Pistol Keanu Reeves is using in this...

I am almost positive is a Kimber Custom TLE 2 1911 .45acp (which is what SWAT, SIS, and Marine Recon, various other Special Forces use, great 1911 .45acp). Did they use something else and make a mistake? I took a good look and I just picked one up myself (on his, unless it is a 2005-2006 model, would look exactly like mine, which is Tacitcal Law Enforcement, since he is in SIS it might have an SIS front and back checkering on the slide).

The Kimber TLE 2 1911 is freakin great. I got lucky and got mine really cheap, they are kinda pricey but worth it, the guys who sold me mine said I should have paid a good 200-300 more but I guess it was meant for me :D. It has tritium night-sights on it, and is extremely accurate. LAPD SWAT and SIS had a choice of 5 or 6 other guns, ranging from the best of SIG, Beretta, Glock, SW, and Springfield, then Kimber. Kimber won.

Anyway it would just have been accurate to have him use that and as you could see by how he handled it, its a fantastic firearm. Hell, if Swat will use it, right?

It almost looks as if he uses two different 1911 variants, one in a black finish, and the other in maybe a brushed nickel finish. The black pistol, which he is cleaning in the opening, definitely looks like a Kimber (big surprise, given how LA SWAT only uses Kimbers, so he could easily get one from a department armorer), but the other, which he carries in most of the rest of the film, looks almost like it's got a CZ-75 style grip on it, but is most definitely not a 75. Unless it's a very heavily padded molded custom or overgrip, it's definitely the wrong grip shape for a 1911.

I think your wrong. Hers a site that tells you all the guns in the movie.

I think what is confusing is the fact that he is using three different stainless guns in the movie. He has both the Kimbar 1911 .45 caliber, his 2-inch stainless Smith & Wesson .38 special and a Smith & Wesson .45 or 9mm. The .38 is the gun he has on his ankle that he pulls out and accidently shoots Washington in the shoulder at the corner store shootout. The Smith & Wesson .45 or 9mm (I think its a 9mm, b/c in the first shootout at the Korean house he fires at least 10 shots before reloading, more than any .45 Smith can hold) he carries at the first shootout and throughout most of the movie. The Kimber .45 he carries to the shootout with Freemont and Coates and at Wander's house. The problem is that the Kimber and the S&W look very similar which is what creates the confusion. However, I believe always carried the .38 back-up gun and the Kimber .45 or the S&W 9mm, depending on the scene. Hope that helps.

The .38 looked to be a Scandium and not a stainless steel gun.

The 1911 .45 had target sights which no cop would want due to snag problems. You'd definitely want a melt job, and you're not doing target shooting anyway.

The target sights bugged me too.

The silver .45 is a S&W 4506 I believe

When he's on duty he's using a S&W model 4506 - .45ACP.

When he's off duty or, " Moonlighting " He uses a 1911. I have searched and searched trying to figure out what kind and manufacturer, and have had no luck.

From still pictures I have seen, it looks like a customized Colt Series 70, or something similar to it. The reason I say that is because the slide serrations are straight up and down, not slanted. You mainly see that on Colts or from other 1911 manufacturers that produce G.I. or Mil-Spec versions. It could be a Springfield, But it's not parkerized, it's blued. Colt. It's got to be.

It has an extended stainless slide lock lever, a beaver tail grip safety, a skeletonized light weight hammer, an aluminum 3 hole trigger, a lowered ejection port, a stainless ambi safety, and an adjustable sight.

None of the other Custom 1911's with those extra features Are produced with straight slide serrations. You can tell it's just a regular Gov. Model that's been worked over by a gunsmith.

It could literally be made by anyone. It just, for some reason looks like a Colt to me.

Toward the end of the movie when Santos and Demille take him up to the house to kill him, they are packing Kimber T.L.E. II's. When Ludlow hits Demille in the head with the shovel, he picks up his Kimber and shoots Santos with it.

But, that is the only time in the whole movie Ludlow uses a Kimber.
