I don't know if anybody pointed this out already,

*possible spoilers*

This is a terrible reference, because I'm not sure about the specifics, but there's some story, I think it's The Apology by Plato. Well Plato or somebody states that Socrates is the most intelligent man to ever live, and Socrates thought he was wrong. Socrates stated that he knew nothing, so he had no idea how he could be the most intelligent man to ever live. So Socrates went out to prove whoever wrong. He found all the wisest men he knew and questioned them to see how wise they were, and found out that they, too, knew nothing.

Well, Socrates found out that every "wise" man he knew, in reality, knew nothing, but Socrates found out that he was the wisest because he admitted to his ignorance.

Doesn't this sum up the ending of this movie? Comparing Bickford to Socrates?

I don't know, but I do know that this movie was a waste of time. Nothing was "cool" about this movie. Miscast characters, stupid storyline, bad acting, annoying soundtrack, blahblahblah.

Your help in pointing out the derivative would have been great if it weren't so obvious.

The only thing 'cool' about the flic was tossin' a wacky spin on the known. Personally, I felt Fugit's physical acting was on par with Chevy Chase.

Feel good flic based on old philosophy, what were you expecting; a unified theory of everything?
