Your special little POV is self-negating since the movie wouldn't even exist, let alone be better under your given circumstances. Maybe go smaller than a "if this were an alternate reality" critique and stick with what you can articulate in a logical argument.
The movie was everything it was meant to be. Especially notable was the physical fumbles performed by Patrick Fugit. He was on par with Chevy Chase's best performances.
