Any update on new series???
I was just wondering if there was an update on when (or indeed if) there's going to be a new series of the guys? If anybody knows anything, thanks.
shareLarge eyes - there are some rumours that Peter K will do a new series, and there are rumours that he isn't as he got bored of Max n Paddy, but i hope they make a new series.....who knows in the end max could end up wiv custody for the wolfster.
Good news is max n paddy is out on dvd from october 3rd....cant wait! i hope there's xtras and some deleted scenes, and behind scenes codumentry as well as audio commentry.....lol

A: It's a class show and B: There's going to be a second season airing in the UK very soon.
There is 100% not going to be another series. They are going to release a Max and Paddy fitness dvd, which is going to be hilarious apparently.
Peter Kay will not be doing another series of M & P though. I personally am gutted as I thought it was hilarious, and there was a lot more scope for future adventures, maybe in the 50 minute format that Only Fools and Horses switched to in the early 90's. The thing about a non-static comedy is that you can introduce as many new characters at any time you want, that way it is possible for a series not to run out of ideas, as we saw with Friends, Men Behaving Badly and unfortunately Phoenix nights.
Do not despair though, as Kay is writing a brand new series for channel 4 as we speak. It will NOT feature any of the Phoenix nights characters, but there is a rumour that it may be an expansion of one of the characters from 'That Peter Kay Thing', maybe the oldest paper boy in the world.
This rumour is surfacing because of Kay's new direction, adding more black humour into his work- as we saw with the discovery of Max's child.
I fear that you are right though I prey your wrong.
I would like to see Max and Paddy have another stab because Sit Coms are always more popular in the second series eg

Little Britain
Pheonix Nights
Only Fools and Horses
The league of Gentleman
Faulty Towers
The list goes on quit though before the difficult 3rd series or die on your arse like

Well, I hope this isn't a myth!!! Although having seen the Power of Two, it may have been something to do with that.
Still, I want to see more of Road to Nowhere, it was just a lot of FUN!!!

this show was brill - however theres only 1 problem with this show, only people in the north of england will understand the jokes, such as ''put that fookn coooker on'', tho i liv in london i was born in sheffield and the jokes i get easily, not so common with other southeners, oh well, having another series of billy shannon and big bobs bastrd beans will do me just fine!
shareI'm disappointed with Peter Kay he makes 2 Excellent series of Phoenix Nights & leaves me begging for another series & then does it again with Max & Paddy. PETER HAS TO BE ONE OF THE BEST COMEDIAN IN YEARS. Just a few quotes from Max & Paddy,

It's the suttle jokes that take a bit of working out that are the funniest Like Noddy Holder's two mechanics are called Les & Dennis (After his daughters ex-Husband!)

yeh thats what i was thinking too, as far as im aware theyr not related which was why i was a bit confused!
being a geek about max and paddy isnt such a bad thing, not when the shows as funny as it is!
It's anything the slightest bit related to Phoenix Nights these days though!!!

If the fitness video is successfull it leaves a brilliant potential storyline for a 2nd series because Max & Paddy are now rich and famous (as Z list celebs none the less.) Re: Northen Comedy, I'm Welsh and I get it, I love Coronation Street too. Peter Kay should make another appearance in that, his character was brill last time.
