A disc of this film is being tossed around the film department of my school and I got a chance to see it. I must say I have seen alot of short films and this one tops my list. The film is so beautifuly shot and directed its like your entering into an alternate universe. The version I saw did not seem to be finished yet and I want to figure out how to see it. Does anyone know anything about this film or the director??? PLEASE POST!!!

shareIf you mean that the ending sucked, I can only tell you that the director is working on a feature-length version of it. I really hope that the endings gonna be rewritten. Not THAT extreme.

Think about how incest is thought of and looked at in society. The only way they could've gotten away with it anywhere is if one of them changed their name and they lived as a "normal" gay couple instead. I see why they thought suicide was their only way out. The movie wouldn't have been as powerful otherwise.

Oh god, a feature length version of this would rock. I was just saying today (I only saw this last night), "they should make it into a feature length film." That would be amazing.

I don't know why but I like the ending, and I totally agree: This little film is the best short I've ever seen (I've watched it about 20 times, I love it), and I've seen ALOT.
If the feature length does go ahead I'm not sure if I would want the original ending or a different one, its sad because they die but it also makes the film because of how they love each other so much they would rather commit suicide then be apart... and why did they not run? Because they would be tracked down plus they were still in school so they had no real independance, how would they survive?
I really love the way the writer/director seems to make it feel like what they are doing isn't morally wrong. I think it takes a very talented person to take something like incest and make it acceptable and beautiful.
What are everyone elses thoughts?

shareI just have to echo the AMAZING. Seriously, this film pulls you in so many conflicting directions and evokes such a mix of emotions; it's just beautiful. On the one hand, I wish that it wasn't incest so that they could be together but on the other hand, the fact that it was incest makes the film powerful. I also did not want them to die, but their deaths were such a poignant part of the film and is what really makes the lovers "starcrossed". I just totally loved this film.
I am excited to hear that the director wants to make this feature length, because the only aspect of the work that I was dissatisfied with was that everything felt a bit rushed, without enough development. Even so, all the thoughts and feelings it was trying to convey came through, nice and strong. I only ask that the director not change the two lead actors.
I saw the trailer on youtube today and I was hesitant to watch it after reading the description. But this short movie was the best that I’ve ever seen. I love the fact that the director was able to evoke emotions based on a topic that is viewed as being wrong in today’s society and leave a powerful impression.
I would love to see this short film made into a full-length feature film. In my opinion the ending is fine just the way it is and the extension of the movie time will allow for greater character development and more depth into the story. I hope to see more films by James in the future.

yeah the ending is kinda stupid cause they could have kept running , and how dumb are they? did they just go to the motel down the streeet?!! jezze if they did then they diserved to get caught lol. But other than that it's tres good i watched it so many times ! i would really want to see the feature film.

yeah I agree with you on this one. I just got done watching it and everytime I am sitting here in my chair thinking, okay they have a car, but they don't want to run, they are so much in love with each other that they would rather be dead then getting caught and being torn apart. Okay so I was just discussing this with a friend about wanting to see a full length feature of this movie, has it been approved or anything yet? LOL cause I would really go for it!

I happened upon this title on IMDb by coincidence while playing the 6 degrees of game and then wanted to find out more about it, mainly because, I honestly have to say that, I've always found love stories about incestuous relationships very erotic. I watched it on You Tube and although that had full screen capability, it was only a trailer. Then I went to Planet Out and saw all of it, but too bad the screen was small. Anyhow, I hate to be the dissenting voice here and maybe because I'm older and have seen all of that once too often, for far too many years now, but once again it's made with the American attitude that you have to suffer to be gay or even die for it and I'm so very over that by now. I would have rather seen them fight against all odds, without all that pathos, to stay together, instead of giving up at the first sign of resistance to their love. That's all wishful thinking on my part I guess.
Actually I do not think is was made with the thought that you had to suffer to be gay. I don't think being gay was even a factor in the situation. It was more about the brother thing in my opinion and the torture of not being able to predict what could be in store for them. Being scared for the most part. If you look at the vast amount of message boards on theInternet you will see why they would of had a right to be scared of how people would respond. I don't think gay characters should be bound by gay politics. Gay men kill themselves, gay kids live in misery. Gay people murder others and not just cause they're gay but because they are people. Why are gays so insistent on feeling that gay content in film needs to be regulated by the gay agenda? Why is it such a big deal when a gay character is murderer or commits suicide. It happens. We are just like everyone else why cant we be shown as such.
shareOf course bad things happen to gay people, just like they do to everyone else, but the point is that since the dawn of film history, gay characters have been portrayed in a negative light. If not as objects of ridicule or as evil, if they were "good" characters then they had to agonize over their "condition". I'm just saying, that was yet another film in the long line of the "suffering gay" canon and I for one have had my fill of it. Seen within a limited scope however, nw88, you are entirely right. What I think does not take away from how moving and sensitive the film is, but my gut reaction at the same time was: "oh no not another suffering gay movie".
