I think the way Nick Cage was introduced into this argument is quite comical.
Here's the strange thing with sir Ben Affleck, the man is a better actor when he's out of his comfort zone, than when he is in it. If you haven't noticed, all his bad movies, or at least his worst performances, have been the ones where he's played Ben Affleck. When he tries to do something different, when he tries to actually provide an angle to his characters, I love Ben, I think he does a great job. Otherwise he's just dull on screen.
Whereas Nick Cage, is the exact opposite. Cage is great at playing the same character over and over (fairly love it or hate it if you ask me), but whenever he steps out of his comfort zone (ghost rider anyone? captain corelli's?) he's an awful, awful actor. Unfortunately, personality is more marketable over performance, and a guy like Nick Cage is going to have far more movie roles than Ben ever will.
