The film is refreshingly subtle for its genre and effectiveness (Hollywood, please take note). There is no nudity and not much bad language, as far as I can recall (the occasional "son of a b.", a few references to testicles, including one threat to cut off those of the protagonist, which is obviously a joke in the context of the film).

There are some violent scenes (punching and shooting), but a lot of it takes place off screen. The protagonist is actually distraught by the violence he does unto others, which in my opinion makes it more suitable for younger audiences than the cartoon violence without consequence depicted in most mainstream action films.

I'd say 12+ (but then I'm liberal), considering some teenagers are more mature than others. They may get bored by the film's length and slow pace.
