Genesis references + Antichrist similarities *SPOILERS*

El Aura has a couple of Genesis references:

- The events are structured over the seven days of the week.
- The taxidermist is seen "creating" an animal. There's a collection of many different species of animals that are likewise "created".
- His colleague taxidermist is called Sontag: from the German word for Sunday, the day of the Lord.
- The brothel is called "El Eden"

As such, it seems to have inspired Lars von Trier's Antichrist. Here are the similarities:

1) The film begins at home, where the protagonists are busy in the act of "creation" (taxidermy and sex respectively), accompanied by celestial baroque music. All seems very peaceful, but there's a sense of foreboding as the viewer intuitively knows it can't stay this way for long.
2) A family member unexpectedly leaves the house, never to return. This prompts the remaining protagonist(s) to do some soul-searching in a forest.
3) Two protagonists journey to a cabin in the forest where the plot will unfold.
4) One of them takes pills for the brain, which is connected to having a very vivid imagination.
5) The forest has a distinct atmosphere, conveyed by a disorientating swaying of the canopy.
6) There's deer. And a dismembered fox. A canid covered in blood. It's all very symbolic!
7) There's a house called "Eden" where all kinds of perversions take place.
8) The main protagonist is tempted by curiosity and stumbles upon someone's secret notes (Tree of Knowledge metaphor), which sets off the main action leading to Sin.
9) There's a shed with an interesting collection of tools, inspiring characters to think up creative ways for their evil, deadly deeds.
10) One of the themes of Sin is violent abuse within marriage.
11) The main protagonist wants to save the woman, but she doesn't let him.
12) The main protagonist is not really a killer at heart but he has no other choice: it's kill or be killed. And so he kills.
13) The film ends with the main protagonist returning home and leaving the forest littered with dead bodies.

I'd probably find more after rewatching Antichrist.
