Most despicable looking mom?

Now I have not seen all episodes of this show, but I have to say there are definitely some real "villians" out there. I realize that the show can edit things to make people look better or worse than they are, but there's got to be some truth in all of it to make it work. So that being said ... who do you think are some of the moms who came out looking pretty bad, maybe even downright monstrous? Here's a few I came up with ...

Barbara Gates: California Vegan Mom who stayed with the Cajun family

Julie Chase: I don't even remember where she was from, but very VERY bigoted outspoken woman who switched with the lesbian couple

Wendy Kahn-Robeson: Realtor woman who had dumped her husband for younger Australian guy, and pretty much ignored her two daughters (and every one else) for her "love muffin" (her words, not mine). Also pitched a fit over how the money was given for her daughters' education because she had wanted a new kitchen.

Janet Farrell: Really just obnoxious, loud, kind of rude and crude, and selfish. But I guess what jumped out to me was that her four kids at home all pretty much did not like her or want to be around her. (she kept getting into it with the oldest, Brian, because he was into tattoos and piercings, and did not like any of his artwork)

I guess out of those four, you'd have to go with Julie Chase for the worst, because I just could not believe the stuff that came out of her mouth. She did seem to feel bad towards the end, and kind of had a panic attack fearing that she was a monster. Definitely looked like a monster in the show, that's for sure.

What do other people think? Who was the worst in your mind? Anyone I didn't include here that should have been?

I don't think Wendy Kahn was terrible. Something told me that the part of her family was heavily edited, because the kids never complained about their mother, just about their stepfather. If you pay some attention, you can notice that everytime the mother was put in a negative perspective (only by the other mother, Laura), the camera then switched to the girls just staring. That scene (of the staring) could've been taken anytime, for instance when they're just watching tv. I actually thought Wendy was kind of likable, because even though she was out of her comfort zone, she remained enthusiastic about new experiences. If anything, I was pissed at her new spouse for feeling "she crossed the line" because she did not make him any dinner. Gosh.... get off your lazy ass and make some dinner yourself! I guess he was just that kind of bigot who feels that the woman is the one supposed to make dinner.

To remain ontopic, I guess a lot of the answers will feature the two following words: Marguerite and Perrin.

I know they probably edited it to make Wendy appear however they wanted her to, but she did strike me as rather self-centered. I mean she admitted she left her husband because she met another guy and just fell for him. And even if he was the bad guy, not very nice to the girls, not patient with them, etc., she NEVER should have allowed that as their mother. They are her children, they should come first, not her Australian love-muffin. And her acting the way she did when she learned how the money would be divided ... there's disappointment, and then there's having a fit because you didn't get what you wanted.

The dinner thing went both ways ... she had made a big deal out of "I'm going to make dinner for all of you tonight!" Got it half started, then got invited over to hang with the neighbors and promptly forgot about the family and dinner (even though she said she'd be back in a bit to finish up dinner). Now I agree, the family just sitting there not doing anything, continuing to wait, was ridiculous. They should have gone over well before that and said "Do you want us to put that in the oven? Do you want to save it for tomorrow and we'll just grab something ourselves tonight?" Not wait for hours and then finally send a kid over to say "Oh ... are you still feeding us?" That was pretty lame, and really made them seem like morons. However, she HAD said she'd make dinner, she HAD started it, and they were waiting to see what she was going to do. Which apparently was ignore everyone else and have fun with the neighbors. She dropped the ball, but they kind of let it get out of hand too.

I don't know, Marguerite Perrin ... she never struck me as despicable. Just VERY misguided. I almost felt sorry for her, because they put her in a situation that just went against every thing she believed in. I'm not saying she was right in her thoughts and beliefs (and her outburst), but they pretty much put her somewhere that was total, polar opposite of everything she believed in -- who wouldn't have a difficult time in that situation? Maybe I feel for her a little too because then they sent her on another swap and she had to deal with that idiot Abasi. That was totally ridiculous -- HE was totally ridiculous. No one deserved the crap he gave her. And he even said he did it purely because she annoyed him.

Well anyway, just my thoughts about Marguerite ... she did make for good reality TV the first time, that's for sure! But they kind of made her sympathetic almost with the second swap.

Lisa Shatz, the Jewish wife that looked down her nose at the Southern Martin family that she stayed with. She was also defensive in her language and never showed any compassion or sympathy to the children in the family she stayed with. She didn't try to bond with them. She was a horrible communicator, always defensive and obviously unable to speak civilly to anyone not like herself. And the way she had so many guests in her home, but served herself first because of her kosher beliefs, yet never respects others beliefs, insults the grandmother, who simply inquired about kosher living, Lisa said my religion predates yours, your ancestors were all probably pagans while my people were already practicing the jewish religion. she was always trying to establish her superiority over those she thought inferior without ever attempting to understand the family she stayed with and constantly insulted the teenage boy that he needs a tutor and is basically dumb and she tells the other mother that Lisa comes from an area of the country that stresses the importance of education, while Mrs. Martin's area doesn't. How would she know that? More stereotypical assumptions made be a higher-than-thou, ugly chick.
