if Jamie had died in season 3 then Jude would've been devastated throughout the remainder of the series.. i don't think anyone would be able to get over their best friend of 14 years passing away during their teenage years.

I agree.I love Jamie,and sometimes think that he and Jude make a better couple than Jommy.And I was pissed when Patsy died,because Patsy made a great character,in my opinion.The show wasn't that much the same without her.And it would be so unrealistic for Jamie to be drinking and driving.

I liked Jamie in season 1 and maybe 2 but then after Patsy died he really annoyed me with his behaviour - but even more so in season 4. It really got tiresome how he couldn't get over his crush on Jude and treated her badly because of it. And also his whole storyline was boring I usually skip those parts with him whenever I rewatch.
