Starting with Gimmie Gimmie Shock Treatment?

I just finished watching the whole series and I really liked it a lot! I thought the most compelling episode was "Gimmie Gimmie Shock Treatment" from Season 4. Do you think if I were to share that episode with someone who has no prior IS background that they'd be confused? There's not a whole lot of backstory in that episode other than knowing that Jude and Tommy have been off and on. I think everything else can be inferred from the episode. Season 1 was just a bit too angsty to start off with. I almost didn't finish watching it, but once they dropped the high school stuff and focused on the music and the studio, it was much better.
