Homosexuality was looked on as a disease by a lot of Spartans. The idea of man laying with man existed in Ancient Greece, but it wasn't advertised much. Most of the homosexual romances took place between older men and younger men, which they called pedestral relationships. These relationships were meant to bond men together.
You see, at the age of THREE, boys began training to be warriors. And men in their later teens were considered young warriors. Men in their twenties were worriors. Older soldiers, began courting younger warriors, so that they were bonded together, and were loyal to eachother. And in the few groups of grecian soldiers that practiced sodomy, it wasn't looked upon as a nasty act. It was looked on as an act that bonded the "master race" together as one (by master race, I mean "men"). And if you study Ancient Greek Mythology, there is a lot of pedestral and male-courted relationships that go on amongst the gods and even Herecles (Hercules), himself.
Look up the story of Zeus and Ganymede...
Hope that somewhat answers your question about it. However, if you are referring to the movie in which Megara catches Iphicles with her hubby, that was fabricated for the movie. A lot of the things in this version of "HERCULES" was fabricated. Megara never married the king. She was killed along with her children. Linus wasn't brought back to life, (I don't recall ever reading that he was). And everything that happens to Hercules, is not because people on earth were jealous of him. It was because the goddess, Hera set up traps to kill Hercules, herself.
