Why doesn't TV Globo release their shows on DVD?

I'm not Brazilian, nor I am from the US.. I just would like for someone to help me understand why TV Globo has never released any of their tv series on DVD. Granted these shows typically run longer than 100 episodes over the course of a year, but judging by the gigantic audience each one of them has attracted worldwide, and the amount of revenue they make for TV Globo; I'm sure there's an audience willing to buy dvd sets, and these dvds shouldn't be that expensive to mass produce for one of the largest tv studios in the world.

I love Brazialian movies, and I know many others, who would like those miniseries. I would be very interested in attaining it, for a reasonable fee.
GLOBO TV could make extra money, if they would distribute internationally.
Not every nation is full of Ignoramusses.
