why did they change the date to 2006???

it should be 2005. and why put the V? i guess that stands for video release but that doesn't make any since either. neither are really important but it kinda bugs me.

great movie though.

IMDB is all over the place with the date. What imdb does is, the second the movie is announced as in production from Vareity, etc, they post this as the date. This is wrong. The date should be the first date the movie is released nationally. Which is June, 2007. Watch for world Television premiere soon, and, BLUE RAY/HD DVD.

Actually the date should be the date the movie is completed and ready for delivery, not the date of the release. The release might fall into another year depending on how long it takes to get a domestic distributor. Since some movies never are released "nationally" but might do well internationally, using a national domestic release as the criteria would make no sense. IMDb does not set the date but rather the person from the production company who enters the data. Low budget filmmakers often underestimate how long post production will take and the date needs to be changed.

reply

Actually the date as used by IMDb's rules is the date the film premiered. No other. Neither the date it was finished nor widely released.

Yes, but define "premiered."

Yes, but define "premiered."

Premiered has yet another meaning for the Oscars. They go by the year the film premiered in Los Angeles regardless of when it originally premiered.
