Sandy Collara and his infinite cash flow.

How does he just get money all the time to make these shorts? I wish someone would give me a bajillion to do some random piece of crap 10 minutes or less film for no reason so it could be randomly downloaded by people on Ifilm and never heard of.

I heard that WB payed him to do a "concept" story or something after seeing Batman: Dead End. I , personally, thought I was a great concept story. WB should hire Sandy Collara to at least make a series (Batman, Superman and/or Justice League, I don't care which). Maybe He could save us from shows like Birds of Prey...Now that's a piece of crap...lol

reply

I doubt he was hired to do any type of concept work, it doesn't sound like their style. But I agree, he would do good working on a series for television. I wouldn't mind them doing what they've done with Smallville as a series on TV and a Superman Returns motion picture on the screen. Then again, that's just me!!! But I like Sandy's work. He could possibly do something great on television that feels more motion picture-esqe. And according to the box office info on IMDB, this trailer concept short cost $12,000. Looks like a decent job to me. I bet they had a blast making it!

Wow, you're just a whole bucket of a**-hole...

The guy does have a real job... and a real life unlike some people. Most people have $10,000 to burn, but the problem is very few people want to burn it on a superhero short. They like to buy "cars" and "home theater systems" and other pieces of junk. Fan films downloaded in low quality are forever... I suddenly want to weep openly...

reply

"Most people have $10,000 to burn. . ."

No, they don't. Who the hell are these "most people" you're talking about? MOST people struggle to stay afloat. MOST people are dealing with an economy that is down the damned SHlTTER. "Most people have $10,000"? Yeah. Sure. Most people have awesome, high paying jobs, and live in gated communities. SURE they do.

"most ppl that work in hollywood / movie industry"

Thanks for the correction, I was just about to post it now... Months after the fact. Rock on, rodrigot.

Oh, I still have my $10,000 to burn, Budzy. Sorry, you keep missing your rent.

Sandy Collora got his money from working in film. I don't know if you have read his IMDb profile or the profile on his website, but this guy worked on "Dogma", "Predator 2", "Jurassic Park", and several other high-grossing films. If he choses to use the fruits of his labor to do what he loves doing, the one thing that you can do to stop seeing it is just that: look away. I personally enjoyed "Batman: Dead End". I enjoyed the trailer to "World's Finest", and I cannot wait to see what he comes up with next. If you don't like it, don't watch it. You have the same problem that the FCC has. The FCC doesn't like seeing or hearing certain things, so instead of turning the channel or dialing another station on the radio, they want to eliminate the things they don't like.

Sandy Collora is living the American dream. Leave him be.

nicely put.

Hell I'd work with him. He seems to know a lot and could probably teach most wannabes(myself included) quite a few things. Both of his labors of love have shown just that, love. If only Hollywood could figure out how to do the same, we'd have more good movies again. I say give Sandy a couple mil and see what he could throw together. I bet it would be better than what all of these naysayers and trash-talkers could do.
