The lead character was a *beep* idiot that deserved what she got.

OK. She goes back in to the car and gets driven back to the house. That was aggravating, but then SHE *beep* ESCAPES after that and yet she still somehow manages to get herself stuck back at the house again.

I mean, she meets the biker. She tells him they have his girlfriend. He's like "Show me." She's like, "OK." No bitch. You argue with him and ask him to get help, not follow him. They had a *beep* large amount of bikers back at the little pit stop that could have gotten and helped save their friends or at least get revenge.
Then when the biker is at the house and goes to get his girl inside, she didn't just leave and get more help. No, dumb ass goes inside too.
Finally, the writers gave her one last chance to leave and get help after at least three times were she could have left, but she decides to go back in to the house.

Seriously she deserved a much more painful death than she got. Her boyfriend was ridiculously annoying too. "I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!" Yeah, how you going to do that when you're tied up dumb ass?

Give her a break. You would do the same in that situation!

Um....Erin in the remake was the #beep# idiot who unfortunately didn't get what she deserved.

Remember the priceless..."I'm being attacked by a maniac with a chainsaw, I'll stop to drink some tea I don't even want from these two strange ladies in the middle of the woods".

The lead in this movie was crashed into a situation and kept going back in to try and help her friends.

The lead in the remake got her friends into the situation(against their will) she got everyone killed because she didn't want to leave the body of a dead hitchiker on the road, then she wants to leave when all her friends are killed.

Completely agree.

OK, folks. Enough with the biased posts from fanboys and let's just look at these "faults" objectively.

Erin ran into those weird ladies' trailer because she didn't expect the lunacy to extend so far as it did. She probably assumed only these crazy men are involved in the massacre; and considering the trauma she went through just before (escaping Leatherface while Andy got captured, tortured by Hoyt, terrorized by Leatherface, watching her friend get hacked by Leatherface and then chased by him), of course she'd run into a trailer. But I guess people like Guyyouwishyouwere haven't the slightest clue what mental exhaustion and shock are. Can anyone think rationally or act fast when mentally exhausted or in shock?

As for her "getting her friends into the situation", how in the everloving *beep* could she predict that she was getting them into the territory of a bunch of murderous nuts? Being unable to predict the future doesn't make one an idiot; otherwise, call the whole world a bunch of idiots. Yeah, condemn her for having a heart and doing the morally right thing.

On the other hand, Chrissie knew perfectly well that the whole family is involved in the travesties and that they're very powerful. Yet she gets the guts to go back many times by herself or with minimal help. Yeah, she's got guts and heart, but no brains.

You know, it's funny how all the fanboys/girls of this flick will flog their praise for the stupid idiot characters of this film and bash ones of the remake with the worst arguments conceivable.

You skipped over the fact Erin forced everyone to handle the hitchhiker thing how she wanted which got everyone killed. She refused to let anyone leave when Kemper suddenly disappeared and things were weird, even LECTURING Morgan and Pepper for wanting to leave (Even though a crazy girl blew her brains out and CAME from the area, the sheriff was weird, there was a weird little kid, human teeth were lying about, and someone was missing)
Not only does she lecture them, but then she leaves Andy to die a short while later. So she's a hypocrite too.

Then don't forget Morgan sacrificing himself to try and save her. Leatherface actually DROPS the chainsaw and Erin sits there screaming like a moron.

So yeah, she's an idiot.

Welp. I could be on a roll pointing out how flawed and hypocritical your points are; but a brief look around at IMDB shows that you've been aggressively shoving your hate for Erin in many TCM board threads for at least 2 years now.

So basically I'm wrong for having my own opinion?
You haven't made a single valid argument against me in that post. Yes, I hate Erin. The length of time I hated her character doesn't make what I said any less true.

Hey, moron. Did you see the date of this topic? Could you at least waste your life on more recent threads?

I was owned because someone had nothing to say when I pointed out why they spend their life defending a character in a movie and hating another character from another movie, on an internet message board? That's a good indication of your flamboyant Chrissie fetish; perhaps you should look at yourself in the mirror and see how much your post applies to yourself. Or perhaps you're too ashamed because you're afraid that you're just as much (probably more) a fanboy/fangirl as you call me.

Don't call the kettle black, you pathetic pot, you.

Ironic you point out how fast my reply is, considering your timing of replies is no better. Has it occurred to your lonely mind that it was around the time I happened to check my email? I guess that's something your diseased brain can't register; not surprising, considering you probably believe your Jordana Brewster fantasies will come true, you equally hypocritical dolt.

Your laughably aggressive judgements aren't doing anything for you except showing insecurities and self-narration. I mean take a look at you; acting like your better than your claims about me when you continue to post.

Say, when you're done your follow-up to me, be sure to get off to your "girlfriend" on film, Jordana Brewster, Pot. That's probably the only dynamic aspect of your life outside your overwhelming hypocrisy on the internet.

"Go outside from time to time geek, theres a whole world out there filled with potential face to face social interaction.." Don't quote what your parents have repeated many times and failed to teach you. Look in the mirror; use your own advice, kid.

"At least half a day better..stupid, lonely person." Heh, in your shallow mind, you think time changes the fact that you have no life. Trust me, taking more time to reply does not absolve you being a loser, stupid hypocritical person.

I'm simply throwing back what you say because everything you say about me strongly and fittingly applies to you. And in this most recent reply of yours, you not only show that even further, you prove how much reading comprehension you have (read: none). And even more amazing is that you claim I'm throwing your words back to you... when that is exactly what you've done in your reply.

That you have to act like an internet tough guy and resort to vulgarity just shows how meaningless your words are, much like your life. Now go waste your waking moments failing to troll someone else, calling them things that your family still keeps calling you. Any sensible person will just laugh at your pathetic attempts at trying to be tough, just making veiled threats. It's not irrational to think the only thing you "hurt" is one of your toys that you slipped on.

Gotta love your speculations of an online user's love life; says more about your own mentality and how much disturbance you have repressed away. I know how upset you are with your own life, which explains your pathetic aggression; but really, no need to project your frustrations on the internet, because you just make an ass of yourself.

Take your daily dose of prozac and go back to crying yourself to sleep, Pot.

I remember hating that character too.

Liked "Stretch" from the second Texas Chainsaw movie though. She reminded me of Jackie from Roseanne.

I have to agree.

Chrissie is a very likeable protagonist. She gets dropped into a nightmarish situation and does everything she can to save her friends. All 'idiotic' decisions she makes are from her attempts to help others.

Erin tries to do the right thing and in doing so gets everyone else in trouble. It's not her fault the Hewitts were deranged and decided to victimize her and her friends but she had many opportunities to leave, which many of her friends wanted to, but she kept them all there.

I agree, finally a stupid annoying "hottie" gets to die in a movie,, amen.
are you going to bark all day little doggie,, or are you going to bite

reply

Umm did you even watch the movie or do you just want attention?

She's desperate for help, so she took whatever she could get (yes i do hate the ending, because how the f did leatherface even get in the car, the damn giant freak can't even tip toe without making it sound like a curb-stomp lol). She can't force the biker to round up his friends just to get his girlfriend (he's a "tough guy" who can handle the situation, so of course his pride and ego will tell him to do it himself and alone).
Plus where could she go to get more help?
If you didn't notice, you could tell she was struggling and trying to make a decision if she should save her own ass but forever live with the guilt of not trying to save her friend, or make a selfless decision and risk getting killed while trying to save her (her friend was screaming for help in a disturbing tone). In a situation like that, what would you do? most likely try to save your friend.

Her boyfriend said that out of anger, Mr tough guy. Most people will be cursing/threatening/going crazy if they witnessed their sibling or friend in a situation like that.
