I liked it more than the first remake.
The first one made Leatherface some kind of monster, a pure killing machine.

Yea this is what you imagine when you hear of a film titled "Texas Chainsaw Massacre". I thought it delivered well and although critics hated it for not having a plat or being too scary, the violence and gore made up for it with me. It's a huge shift from the 2003 remake and I liked it. Very disgusting and watchable movie.

The plot in this film is every bit the equal to films like Halloween (1978), Black Christmas (1974) and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974).

Most of those films (indeed most slasher films) have basic plots where you get your protagonists who get victimized by some mad man/men why? Because the antagonists are evil and the protagonists happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

People expecting/demanding some elaborate dramatic screenplay are idiots. It's the inconsistency that bothers me. If you want that then fair enough but don't worship all the other basic slashers because they're old and thus 'classics' that need to be revered whilst shitting on other ones that don't have the protective 'classic' status.

The plot in TCM: The Beginning is easily above average for a slasher film.

Critics are idiots who hated the horror genre for a long time.
