this is what horror should be like

By far the best in the entire series. 10 times better than the original. I would say this is and rob zombies halloween 2 is tied for the best horror movie ever!

Better than the original? Have to disagree with you, but I don't think it's a bad movie. It was actually much better than I thought. But I disagree with you saying this is what horror should be. Too many times it was just cheap gore, it didn't have well written characters so you cared about none of them and wanted to see them die, and suspense and tension I felt was poorly built. For me, horror movies should have suspense, tension, relatable and well written characters, a good and unique plot (which is very rare now a days) and well done scares rather than cheap jump scares. But like I said, not a terrible movie. I'd give it a 6. Entertaining to watch.

I never really was a big fan of the remake, but I loved the original so decided to give this one a checkout. I was surprised by the nasty, gory, exploitative nature of this film, I thought nowadays brutality was left to the French and musician turned directors.

It is a very good film but not better than the original nor the best horror movie ever. I'd give it an 8/10 and rank it third in the series.

A highly predictable rehash, exploring little to no backstory, while depending heavily on violence and gore as entertainment. No, I don't agree this is what horror should be. Neither does it come close to matching the original.

It's the only remake I like. I really liked the victims in this. I never pay attention to the victims in horror movies because it comes off as the writers trying too hard to give them a background so you can feel sorry for them. But these teens I just couldn't help but wish they had made it.
