Some parts were extremely far-fetched

I did enjoy this movie and, let's face it, the cast was brilliant, even in very small parts. The bartender was the guy from The Wire and now True Blood, the girl he had sex with in the toilet had a very good part in Six Feet Under, not to mention Abigail Breslin and Amy Ryan.

But, to get to my point, what woman would accept a loan of $100 from a complete stranger in a New York City motel? Very unbelievable. Then, she invites that complete stranger into her motel room for a meal with herself and her small daughter. Also very unbelievable. Lastly, she then asks this complete stranger to take care of her daughter for a few hours (actually to pick her up from her school), which, ultimately, turns into an overnight stay. The complete stranger even bathes her daughter and washes her hair. No woman in her right mind would do this. If William was supposed to be mentally ill, then I think the mother was even crazier than him.

It was also very unbelievable how William let Kira go to the candy stand at the Port Authority and buy candy by herself. There are so many weird people at the Port Authority that you wouldn't let a kid out of your sight for a second.

Good movie (thanks to Damian Lewis's brilliant acting), but unrealistic, to say the least.
