Witch one did you like the best???

I think that its three very different extremes and shortfilms. "The Box" was the one that made It for me. Then came "Cut" as my number 2 favorit, though I didn't understand the end... The woman tied up in rope, she was his wife. Wasn't she? The last sentence is quite weird.... then "dumblings" as number three on my top 3.. But maybe if i see the full-lengh of "Dumblings" I will have another oppion. Is it worth watching when having seen the short version?...
What's your oppion??

"Cut" was my favorite. Followed by "Box", then "Dumplings". Like you said, maybe if I see the full-length Dumplings I'll like it more. Especially because when I was watching it, I thought it would be a lot better if it was longer. It felt like it was missing something.

Make an ignorant.. noise.

Cut all the way around. the uncut version of dumplings (the full length version) is awesome.

We just cut up our girlfriend with a chainsaw. Is *that* fine?- Mirror Ash, Evil Dead 2

"The Box" is absolutely the best. I like creepy and surreal movies like this one.. "Dumblings" was kinda shocking but still quite good.. I didn't like "Cut" 'cause I'm not really into these-like sick psycho murderer -movies. And I don't like gore either..

SPOILERS FOR THE BOX!
The ending of "The Box" almost ruined it all! I hate "oh, it was all a dream" -endings! It's like the whole movie doesn't have a meaning or something like that. Those things that happened in the movie should have been real and the ghost too!

Dumplings... by far my favorite... that crunching!

Next I liked Box, and then Cut...

Box was really creepy, and while I agree that the "all a dream" resolution was a bit of a letdown, the "twins" image at the end of the story was a neat little punch.

Cut, well.. a really good premise that I think could have been executed a little better. The cinematography was art. The wife tied to the piano was inspired, beautiful and totally sick.

Dumplings was the best, but I also really liked Cut.

Personally, I thought Box was atrocious and not nearly as good as the other two, but there you go.

Cut
- Already seen the full Dumplings and i didn't like it that much.
- Box was just way to weird for me.
- Liked Cut because i love movies like that, big fan of SAW/Hostel etc :p

Cut is clearly the best. Box is also good, it's actually the best Miike film I've watched. I didn't like Dumplings much.

Cut. Park has got to be my all around favorite director. Dumplings was great but far too disturbing in for me to truly enjoy. Box was pretty good, though a bit slow, but it was clever and great seeing Miike branch out.

Park Chan-Wook - Cut, the best of all three. Cant wait for his directorial debut on a U.S. horror or mystery film (hopefully, not a American remake of Sympathy for Mr. or Lady Vengence)

i thought dumplings was quite good, but it ended a little too briskly for me. It didn't feel like a short film, but rather a whole movie cut into a short film. I really want to see the whole movie because i here it is excellent

Box is typical Miike, much like his film audition: slow, but intense and conniving. I definitely enjoyed it more than i thought i would, especially since i figured it'd be like Ichi the Killer where it would just have lots of sadistic violence and that's it.

However, my favorite by far is Cut, mainly because it is so philosophical and symbolic. By far it is the most confusing of the bunch, but that is its purpose because you can't take it for what it is but rather for what it stands for. Very religious as well which may turn people off who consider themselves either super or anti-religious.

I enjoyed "Cut" the most, it is such a blast to watch where tension and drama happened all in one room. Amusing acting and setup, it was a wicked joyride.

While for "Box", I thought it was pretentious and tedious when I was watching it (and I'm tired of the 'it's all psychological/dream' setup). But after the film ended, I kept pondering on "Box", the imagery haunted me still...it truly stays with you, it's just sooooo beautiful~ and I ended up loving it A LOT (maybe the most?). It reminded me of this short story I read as a little girl, a Japanese girl's comic from 70s about a pair siamese twins by Hagio Moto. One twin is parasitic to another, and it has similar murderous/love/guilt theme. It was my favorite story that haunted me while growing up (I also have a twin sister, seperate of course :D ).

"Dumpling" was pretty thin drama-wise and it's just a premise not a story. Hence it is far less impactful than the other two. Though I found it pretty telling how creepy the crunching sound are even though you don't see anything at all (especially those dumplings looked pretty damn delicious~). I get shivers now that I'm reminded of that sound...

1st - Box, the most visually arresting of the three.
2nd - Dumplings, best storyline.
3rd - Cut. I love Park's work but I thought this was a bit muddled. Excellent visually though.

Box was the best. In fact, it may be the best thing I've seen by Miike. I'd rank Dumplings second and Cut third. Cut wasn't bad by any measure. In fact, I was expecting it to be the best.
