'I bought you flours'

beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!

Perhaps one of the most perfect romantic moments ever in a movie (and I am the least romantic person on the planet!!).

Everybody be cool...YOU be cool!

Hi I'm Al Gore.

reply

No OP's right, flours is correct.

reply

the girl he liked was a baker, so he bought her bags of flour and told her "i bought you flours."

reply

I totally missed this pun because I was listening to translation. Thanks for pointing it out.

reply

no problem. :) i probably only caught it because i had the captions on. haha

reply

I wouldn't feel bad about it, her character didn't catch on right away either. I thought it was pretty creative and cute myself.

reply

She's a Baker, its a pun Grammer Nazi! Watch the movie FOO'!

reply

I know, was kinda perfect

reply

i loved that line too. :) i laughed for about 3 minutes. it was so funny and clever and cute. :)

reply

Sweetest line ever!

reply

When he gave them to her I was thinking 'who the hell puts flowers in paper bags?'

reply

Gotta admit I thought that too lol I feel dumb...

reply

I saw it yesterday and just realised it was flour reading this thread! Awesome line.

Bauer vs. Bourne, that is the question.

reply

It was meant to be misleading. But cute.

reply

Phew, glad I'm not the only one!! I only noticed what he really meant when I was reading the trivia/goof section on here. I feel like such an idiot!

But yes, perfect line.

Allow me to join the club.

reply

Hate to say it, but I am a club member as well. I though they were some sort of flowers seeds in dirt that she had to water, lol. I have seen the film at least 4-5 times and I never knew that it was "Flours" until now. This movie just gets better and better the more you learn about it.

Still Shooting With Film!

reply

I thought the same thing and didn't realize until ready this thread.

Do you like scary movies?
I like the one with the hottie from Party of Five.
Neve Campbell?
Duh.

reply

LOL same here

Only pyssies engage in discussions with d1cks, if I didn't reply you're a dick

reply

I actually thought they were flower seeds. :)

reply

yes a romantic moment could be when you fill the expectations of the other when u think with his mind.

reply

Even I didn't put much into this but I actually thought he was giving her some flower seeds in the bags, weird gift but then Harold was a bit weird.. Wonder though, if any girl would find it romantic if a guy were to gift flower seeds different varieties to grow instead of regular flowers on a date.

I bought you flours.. that was nerdly romantic agreed.

reply

Exactly what I thought. I didn't know the term "flour" before this thread, so I also thought it was seeds :)

reply

As Harold carries the flour to Ana's house, Ana asks which type of flour is in a particular bag, to which Harold replies cinnamon.

I thought seeds too until he said cinnamon, then I was like 'too clever'- played the scene back in my mind and smiled.

A life's worth lived.

reply

I thought he said "barley." She asks if he has a graph or something and he says, no he memorized them. Then she asks what is in the orange one and he says, "I don't remember."

reply

That's exactly what I thought as well. Had no idea it was flours until I came to this thread.

I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

reply

I melted when I heard that too!
