That Kiss.....Whew!!

I gotta say, I have seen my fair share of romance drama's and romantic comedies over the years. In my case, its simply a part of being married as I am a huge science fiction & mystery/thriller fan and my wife is a huge drama and romantic drama/comedy fan. So we basically go back and forth. I pick a movie and then she picks the next one and so on and so forth and that has led to seeing my fair share of romantic drama's and comedies over the years. And in all honesty, I really don't mind when they wind up being quality films like Stranger than Fiction. Its usually the average romantic comedy drivel hollywood puts out that I struggle to get through.

Anyways, all that being said, I have seen hundreds if not thousands of on screen kisses and that kiss between Ana and Harold, when he is playing the guitar, is the single most passionate kiss I have ever seen on screen before. Maggie Gyllenhaal didn't hold anything back during that scene. My jaw just hit the floor the first time I saw that scene. The fact that it was a scene with Will Farrell, an actor that is not usually thought of when it comes to romantic scenes, just made it that much more mind blowing. Honestly, I would not be surprised to learn that Will Farrell's blood pressure went up about 40 points during that 30-45 second scene. Again, Maggie just wen't full gusto during that scene (an understatement!) and its ultimately become one of my all time favorite romantic movie scenes.

There have been a LOT of great kisses recorded on film over the years, many of them performed by actors and actresses that most people find far sexier than Maggie and Will, yet I really can't think of a single one that was more passionate and was played to better music than that kiss between Maggie and Will. All in all, Stranger than Fiction is just a great movie, one that has the single most passionate kiss I have ever seen recorded on film before.
