The crowd- any women out there?

Ok you guys I saw this movie today in NYC. Very good, lots of cute eye candy. The thing is though that out of an audience of approx 75 people I was the only female in the theatre. Very funny I guess it is geared toward men, but am curious are there any women out there that like it too?

reply

You know, that IS odd! The two times I saw it, there were maybe 2 women besides me...I've posted several times on this board, and like the film very much. Also, I'm glad it's doing so much better in NYC than in Berkeley (something ELSE I can't explain..). I KNOW women like this kind of film--about gay guys (and some straight ones, too)--I can only cite one (of several) threads on the two Brokeback Mountain boards i post on: "Straight woman incredibly turned on!"--with 175 posts following it...

That is exactly how I felt!

I just saw this movie yesterday with one of my friends (who is a girl). We walked in and found our seats and I couldn't help but notice that we were the only women in the room! It was so unusual.

guess im from santa cruz. tonight was the last showing. fun fun fun this movie is. hot too lol. umm the room was about half girls half guys. albeit there were only like 6 people in the room. stupid expensive movies. 8.75.

goodtimes though.

Leo is very cute.

That is very interesting...because here in Germany the audience of the film was predominantly female! Back when I saw it in the theatre there were lots of girls and only really few men there...hmmmm
And on almost every German message-board about the film up to 80 per cent of the people who post comments are girls...

Also in Santa Cruz! I went to the matinee yesterday, the last day of showing at the wonderful "NICK"! It was pretty crowded, in a tiny theater, and there were almost as many women as men. Wonderful movie! More should see it!

I and my two friends ( all of us 15 year old girls) hired it out from blockbusters......I kind of assumed the audience would be predominantly female - can't imagine any of my guy pals wanting to watch this.

You mean--it was all THERE? (from Blockbuster)?

I am a girl - and I loved it!!!

Sometimes I think I am a gay man in the wrong body though - so maybe I don't count? ; D

I hear ya!;)

And I thought it was a wonderful movie. The scene between Tobi and Leo was so touching and sweet. I can definitely relate to this more than Brokeback Mountain. It felt more real, more relevant for our time.

reply

half boys, half girls - both time i watched it. :)

reply

Yeah me too~! I collect these kinds of movies~!
