PGL on TV2 last Hari Raya Aidil Adha

Watched it finally. Not worth the wait though. Slow slow slow slow.... Tiara acting not up to standard but equally good for her to win the best actress award at APFF simply because the other nominees were not better than her.

It was very painfully slow to watch, so I switched off the TV and helped my mom to prepare ketupat instead. Dialog lebih kurang mcm filem Yusuf Haslam !

god we've been through this before.

the film was intentionally made as close as possible to the reality at the time. this includes of how people talk, as described in several surviving text and literature.

it is slow, because there are a lot of "visual language" interplayed with the dialog. if u notice the scene where hangtuah was in the dance floor littered with flowers, and suddenly gusti putri came into view. the whole scene was without dialog. but was it without language?

the language is all there. the visual, the movements, the dance, the facial expression. we dont need dialog to tell that someone's falling in love. where in yusuf haslam's film, he NARRATES everything.

but i do agree, many find this film's pace is too slow. i cant deny that. but in order to put our film forward, one or two films has to break the paradigm.
