I was actually surprised, I thought she held her own.

Then again, if you want to appear to be a great singer, don't sing an old R&B song right after a big fat black woman! - it just exemplifies your inadequacies.
Agreed on all counts. I know there were all those stories at the time of "hard
to work with" and all that.
Fine performance alone and with the pros. Blended right in vocally. Seemed like she enjoyed the duets.
Like others in thread, wish she could/would pull out of the ditch.
Does happened, like Downey, but he had already shown a track record of strong
work so still had the spark. LL may not have had that standing so her self-serving behavior has won her no fans in the biz to cut her slack. Practically at point of been written off.
Only thing could save her might be a killer performance in something. Not sure
a Linda Lovelace role is best route. Needs more seasoning to gain respect.
If she's bad so what, a goner anyway. If winning applause so what because who cares anyway by now and likely next one back to form of flop time.
Not like she didn't bring it on herself in a biz that doesn't take to a light
hog, esp an amateur doing the grab.
Her song during the credits was by far the best i've ever heard her sound!

Lohan is a great actress. It wasn't a lack of talent that tripped her career up, it was getting a reputation for being tough to work with. I know, it is easy to dismiss her as part of the Paris Hilton crowd, young stars who made *beep* up an easy way to fame, but Lohan is talented. And had it not been for her substance-abuse, I think she would be much more respected than she is.
I have no doubt that, if she can keep herself on the straight and narrow, and if a director takes a chance, as someone took a chance on Robert Downey Jr., she still has a shot at greatness.

If she had an education beyond the GED she is alledged to have, aka: University studies, then perhaps she'd have made something of her ever-pathetic career. Stick a fork in her already and stop making excuses. (Also, 'blame the mother'!) Altman should have put someone else in her role for this mediocre show.
shareShe gave a better performance in the parent trap than many of the young A list girls of today. She has great talent. She was just difficult to work with and the rest is history.
