Casting

I'll admit, it has been a long time since i read the book but does anyone else think that the casting for some of the characters is a little...off? for example, i'm sure that there's a point in the book where the amish boyfriend is described as calvin-klein model-material. i know that the acting is more important than the appearance of the actor but i would have thought that they could find at least one model in the entire universe who could act the part as well as look good.
