Read the book anyway, it is an easy to read story, easy to follow anyway
shareThe movie 'basically' follows the book, but there are a LOT of details (and even a couple story lines) left out in the movie. It only makes sense for this to happen, but I liked the book a lot more than the movie.
shareIt follows the book closely enough for someone who has read the book to be happy with it, but if you have to read the book for a class, you shouldn't trust the movie as a substitute. The plot is the same, but it glosses over a lot of important themes and character development, and it obviously didn't have time to work in all the backstory the book did. If you have to take a test or write a report on it or anything like that, you should definitely read the book. It's a very interesting read and quite fast-paced; it's worth your time.
According to Matt Barr's tests, I am Hermione, Lisa Simpson, Miss Piggy, and 32.5% geeky.
I strongly suggest (and hope, since this thread started a while ago) that you read this book. I just watched the movie today, and the book is just so much better. It's a great book whether it be for pleasure or class. I wish my English Literature classes in college would have books by Jodi Picoult! I love all her books.
