i didn't understand it

can someone please exlain the story to me. i watched the entire thing and then it just ended. i dont understand how they all connect if they do at all. i didnt keep track of the names but i couldn't place everyone's story together at the end. what the hell happened? it seemed like a great movie but im sure i'd like it more if i thought it wasn't just 9 pointless short stories
