I don't exactly recall any disturbing images. . . Anyone care to correct me?
shareone scene i thought was disturbing was the funeral scene where amy's character has sex with her ex-husband who is there to bury his wife. thought it very weird and disturbing. but still like the movie- i guess we all find ourselves acting out in ways we never thought possible. and did anyone think she was really not into it or was that just me? that kinda made it more yuck- like she was just giving in.
shareI felt really inappropriate then I found myself laughing during that scene. I'm not sure if I'm the only person who found humor in the situation. When her ex-husband said something about masturbating thinking of her and said that no one ever made him come like her, I let out a small giggle.
I just felt like her face was one of a woman who found the whole situation highly ridiculous but also felt immense sympathy for this disturbed and almost pathetic man. He didn't say "I think about you all the time, I miss you, I love you, I want us to try again." He said, "I think about you all the time, you're the best sex I've ever had." And she knew that it wasn't right.
I thought this was also supported when while he was... doing this thing... she kept kissing him like she was comforting a sobbing little boy whose dog had just died.
Just my two cents.
There are many kinds of laughters... (per psychological and biological points of stance)
One of such laughters is when the mind is puzzled and/or disturbed and/or concerned (and/or so on...) to such an extent that it triggers a micro breakdown in process of thought (what triggers all else) and results in laughter...
Some philosophers simply stated: "When one has no other answer he laughs" or "Laugher is when nothing else logical comes to mind..."
Well I wrote the above for my own review... but also to explain the reason of (possibly) why you laughed... (and do not get me wrong - it is all perfectly normal as you can see per above...)
