Least/Most Favorite Story?

I loved this film, however I found some stories to be more profound than others... so I ask you, which story was your least favorite? ... Most favorite?

For me, my least favorite would have to be Maggie (Glenn Close and Dakota Fanning at the graveyard), whereas my favorite was Sandra (first scene at the jail). I believe Elpidia Carrillo should have gotten recognized for her acting over Robin Wright Penn.

What about you?

My most favorite was at the grocery store. It brought out a lot of emotion in me, as it reminds me of a past relationship I was in and how it ended so badly with the both of us still very in love with eachother. I felt that scene was a perfect reflection of the way we feel towards eachother and will for quite possibly, the rest of our lives.

My least favorite --- probably the funeral.

I guess my favorite segment is Camille (the hospital scene). Kathy Baker and Joe Mantegna work magic with that with just a few minutes and lines of dialogue.

My least favorite was Holly (a woman's confrontation with her sister, her father, and their pasts. It's been a while since I've seen it, but I found at the time I saw the movie that I couldn't summon empathy for Holly, whereas I could for the equally desperate Sandra (the first segment).

i can't really decide which piece is my fav, b/c they all were powerful -- but the one that i had to watch again was lorna's story. it moved me & the dialog btw her & william fitchner's was very well acted. . .and real to me. . .he was simply brilliant!

I thought most of the scenes were very powerful but the cemetery scene left me crying, which movies rarely do, so I guess "favorite" wouldn't be the right word but it is the scene which affected me the most. The funeral scene was my least favorite because I found it distasteful and preposterous that a man would carry on [to put it delicately] with his ex-wife at his present wife's funeral.[the result of a suicide] We didn't know enough about any of the characters in that scene to feel empathy or understand what it was all about.

IMO the best story is surely Maggie's one (Glenn Close/Dakota Fanning), I wanted to give the movie a 7 before having seen that, then I decided for an 8.
The whole acting is very intense, and I think Glenn Close is the best actress ever; I kinda suspected Maria might have died since we've known Maggie is her mother (not her grandmother, as it could easily have seemed in the beginning), then I was almost sure of that when she starts crying in the middle of their playing.
I also liked the funeral scene, unlike many posters did, because it shows how sometimes sexual desire can overcome even the most deep feelings.
Anyway, it's a movie centered on human weakness.

The film moved me beyond words, and my favorite story would be Lorna's. William Fichtner just blew me away, at the end of the vignette I had to pause the DVD and cry. I thought it was powerful.
My least favorite story would be Sonia's with the ackward abortion confession.

The one I connected to the most was the robin wright penn segment in the supermarket. It was like a slice of my life literally... um the best one though... maybe the amy brenneman segment? i also liked the holly hunter one.

My favorites were both the Glenn Close story, and Robin Wright in the supermarket. Glenn's story was a sucker punch to the chest, just a stunning twist that was heartbreaking. Robin's segment was equally heartbreaking, and the most identifiable story in the film. Also loved Lisa Gay Hamilton's vignette, even if it was harrowing to watch.

Least favorite was Samantha's. The pace dragged (walking back and forth through the house), and Amanda Seyfried wasn't good at all. She's improved like crazy since then.

Don't leave this girl alone with any handsome deaf mutes, Marty, that's my advice to you
