Robin Wright Penn

I thought Robin Wright Penn had the best performance in this film. Kathy Baker did fine but it's much easier to convey being scared and angry than the multiplicity of emotions Penn's character expressed.

Yes, she did. This story had a lot of feeling because who hasn't experienced a 'love story' that could have been forever and failed?

Robin is always a gem, no matter the overall quality of the film. She was typically radiant and powerful in Nine Lives. If you enjoyed her here you really need to check out her work in other films like Sorry Haters, She's So Lovely, The Playboys, Breaking and Entering, Loved, Moll Flanders and so on. I would add Forrest Gump and The Princess Bride to the list, but most people are already aware of her work in those films.

Robin Wright Penn and Glenn Close by far were the best roles in the film. However, Robin came out on top, the emotion she brought forth was astounding. I was glued to the screen for the entire segment. It really showed love, anger, regret, remembrance, and that "what if" in a short space of time.

she is fantastic. so real, and intence...she is the best in this movie

I can just imagine her script notes: surprised and awkward, rush of memories - good and bad, curiosity, lust, desire, need, guilt, confusion, composure, resisting, remembering, love.

She displayed it all.

Hers was my favourite 'story' for sure. Followed closely by Glenn Close's. Both brought forth such real, raw emotions.
