Lisa Gay Hamilton

can't believe she gets so little praise around these boards. her performance was by far, imo, the most amazing in the movie!

any good films she acted in that anyone might care to recommend? it seems i haven't seen *any* - except for 12 Monkeys (but i cant remember what part she played)

She was great in The Practice.

While I agree she was great on the few episodes I ever saw of The Practice, I thought her performance in this film was AWFUL!! Maybe it was the fact that other elements of the segment she was in seemed to be lacking as well (i.e. the writing seemed to be a monologue with the other actress thrown in as a prop w/ a few lines here and there. And the blocking also seemed lifted from a high school play..). I think LGH has potential as an actress but that her performance could have benefitted greatly from a lot more subtlety and a little less over acting. It was like "soap acting class 101"..

I agree, she definitely gave the strongest and most genuine performance out of everyone

I half-agree with the original poster. In a movie filled with wonderful actors and wonderful performances, LGH shares top honors with Robin Wright. I loved so much about this movie, but those two performances are what really stayed with me when I left the theatre. Nice to see someone else singling out LGH's work in this film!

She was heartbreaking! And the scene was absolutely terrifying. She is officially one of the best actresses around.

I was blown away by her acting too. I didn't see where the scene was building, but then it all made sense in retrospect (I guess we still don't know ultimately what happened, but the implication seemed to be that she--spoiler alert--decided not to use the gun and probably just stormed out).

I hadn't ever seen her in anything before* but look forward to seeing more in the future.

The only complaint I have is that after her initial appearance, her turning out to be a nurse didn't seem quite right.

*Looking at her filmography, I've seen Jackie Brown and 12 Monkeys but don't remember her in them.

She's a great little actress, although I knew what she was going to do. Still to see someone do it was quite shocking. Her scene probably at the most heart in my throat moment for me. Her psychic pain was real.

Her performance blew me away! She's such an underrated actress.

I agree. The best performance in the movie.

People were probably just mad at her for divorcing Paul McCartney and sawing off her leg.
