I think the Marine is possibly the worst movie that i have ever scene. My friend who ironically is in the Marines bought this movie and hated it so much he just gave it to me, and in return I hated it so much I gave it to the first person who would accept it at school the next day. It at least made me laugh with the most awkward dialogue ever.

Oh man, come on, Snakes on a Plane was meant to be taken lightly. Even the initials of the movie are funny. The acting was decent and so was the dialogue. Not a great movie but entertaining and enjoyable
The Marine was either an obvious attempt to be serious or a seriously failed attempt to be an action/comedy. I mean everything they shot at sparked just like everything they hit with a car. How many times can one man run, jump or dive away from an explosion at the last possible fraction of a second. A police car with a manual transmission? A car flying through the air so slowly that they hit the undercarriage about 100 times but no one sees him get out? Just about everything blowing up? The plot, the dialogue, the delivery...just about everything very week and poor. I was surprised at how disappointed I was. Worst movie ever? Not quite. But I sure couldn't recommend this one to anyone unless their only other choice was Gigli or Date Movie.

Thank you! I watched it tonight, and I honestly said that to myself. This has to be the worst movie i have ever seen. I mean...jesus i have seen some repugnant movies but this one is the epitome of awful. This film could not have sucked harder, Sadly I couldnt rate this movie because the system does not allow for negative numbers.

I love people who tell other people off about their spelling and then spell allright as "alryt". I just watched this movie and I can safely say it sucked. Not the most sucky movie ever, I have sat through worse( manos the hands of fate, and coffee and ciggarettes) its not like anyone expected oscar gold out of this, see it for what it is, stupid action.

I agree. We watched it in one of my classes (it's the end of the year, and we're not doing anything), and I think I was the only person not amused. There's nothing like perpetuating stereotypes in film (race, gender, etc...); it was totally appalling. Just like every other Hollywood movie. The acting, the dialogue, the whole plot--lame.

The best part in the movie was towards the end when John reached in the truck & thew the bad lady out of the truck & into a on comming bus, that was off da hook & had me in by the seat of my pants. This wasn't the greates film ever, but I liked it better than Snakes On A Plane or I Know Who Killed Me. I watched those, then watched The Marine, and I thought that The Marine was a rare gem in a world of *beep* movies. Then I watched Scarface. So.......... This movie is worth it's wait in gold for the opening scene alone. When Cena takes the Al-qaeda base himself...amazing! Absolutely hilarious, and I hope to high heaven that they meant to make it that over the top and ridiculous, because if that scene was in actuality meant to be taken seriously.....well, I don't think that's the case...can't be.
All in all, worth a rent, but just to watch the opening scene.
Seeing al-qaeda scum die at the hands of a Marine is worth price of admission/rental alone. I disagree with many comments in this board that the film was "the worst ever seen". I mean, come one. Maybe someone didn't like it but "the worst ever"? That's just oveer-the-top commentary. Frabkly, I really enjoyed the film and would watch it again.

Agreed. You couldn't come into this movie expecting it to be great. It was made by WWE. It was a decent action flick and nothing else.
