Finally getting to this film today !!
From all the reviews it seems that this film is supposed to be one of the "real classics". I'm seeing words thrown around like "brilliant", "stunning", "masterpiece" etc.. Now I have heard these words tossed around entirely to many times than I'd care to see on a movie site but hey.. People get over excited at films they like at times so that's fine.
I have not read the book so I hope that it doesn't totally effect the quality of the film for me. From what I'm reading in the MB and "user reviews" it is a rare film that is right there with the book so hopefully that doesn't matter much. If it is as great as you all say than I will get the book on my Kindle.
All I've heard are good things from this film and I'm surprised it has taken me this long to start watching it (after all I do enjoy Marc Forster films) plus I like a good drama more than most genres.
Here goes nothing and I hope that I'm steered in the right direction on this one. Lately I've watched some high rated films with killer reviews and have been super dissapointed which sucks because I trust IMDb members when picking a lot of films and regard people's marks (for the most part) to be a gold standard for picking films.
