I thought I recognized the actor who played Ruben as being Joel McCrary (also in the Princess Diaries movies). But I missed the opening credits, and you all know on TV they cut the end credits to half-screen to advertise what is coming up next. I didn't see the credit listed, either in his bio, or on the cast list for Back to You and Me. Does anyone know?

shareHe didn't have much screen time but he made the most of it and was a memorable character in this movie, no matter what. I'm glad he was in it. I also loved him the Princess Diaries movies. Isn't he a bit of a singer? I thought that it was he who was singing the anthem in the PD movies.

I do think that is Joel's singing voice in the PD movies. I think Joel is the sexiest man in show business, and would really love to see him more often! Does anyone know his relationship status or sexual orientation?!!!
shareI believe, if I remember rightly, that he wrote the anthem for the country that they sing. He is a talented man, not very widely used, unfortunately.

As co-executive producer (and producer for other films) what kind of control do you have in casting? I would love to see Joel cast in other roles - especially as a lead. I think he is ultra-talented and have seen him in just about everything he has been in from commercials to TV to movies. If I lived in California I would even go catch him on stage. Does his lack of work come from poor representation by his agent or something Joel does or has done?
