Filming Locales + Recent Film Festival Release

The filming was completed last year here in Santa Cruz County, CA and was actually released ahead of time for the Santa Cruz Film Festival last month.

As far as behind the scenes, the cast and crew were great and all very approachable. The majority of the cast (except for Roberts) showed at the festival release. It might not get substantial ratings, but it has been nice to see a film succeed on the local level - since the last major film that came through here tanked horribly (Out on a Limb/Welcome to Buzzsaw).

Exact locations in case anyone is curious: the Boulder Creek Fire Station (B. Creek), Blake Hammond Manor (Ben Lomond), Bear Creek Rd (B. Creek), the Mountain Store on Highway 9 (B. Creek), and a variety of houses in and around the north San Lorenzo Valley.

Filmed in Santa Cruz? Steven Williams' publicist (whom I'm in contact with) told me at the time of shooting that it was being filmed in Bulgaria for Sci-Fi Channel (at the same time Sci-Fi Channel had another movie shooting there, to save costs), and was to air sometime late last year. Did it ever air on Sci-Fi?

Almost positive that it did not, first preview (per cast/crew) was the film festival circuit, and from what I saw, majority of the scenes were here and in studio...will definitely check it out.

Okay, I'll be waiting. I was looking forward to seeing it, because I was told it would be on Sci-Fi sometime last October, and then it never showed up. Thought I had just missed it.

Actually it was filmed entirely in the Santa Cruz/Felton/Boulder Creek area (as listed on the original post of this thread) with the exception of one scene filmed in Downtown Sunnyvale, CA. All of the interiors were actually filmed on location in the buildings depicted.

Dr. Kila Marr was right. Kill the Crystalline Entity.
