Why do Sonny and the gang....

Just drive away from the farm Richard is staying on after Sonny accidentally shoots their friend Al in the head with the sniper rifle? They clearly had a chance to kill Richard then and there.

reply

He had an axe, and he was a loose cannon. They were bricking it the moment Sonny had his conversation with Richard. One shot rifle wasn't going to cut it.

I think the incident "spooked them enough" to where they backed down, at least momentarily. Time for a huddle and new game plan...

How??? They would have no chance of taking on a trained royal marine with an axe lol... It also would have taken him ages to reload that rifle, especially with shaky hands... and he already missed once. I doubt his aim would improve much with an axe wielding psychopath running at him.

reply

It was a bolt action rifle that would hold 4-5 rounds in the magazine. It would take no more than 2 seconds to jack in another round.

reply

Wrong. There was no magazine. Why would you try to *beep* about a film where it is easy to see?

reply

When they broke down ...metaphor..
. it was pretty clear they could see the inevitability of their downfall... and how their lives had basically led up to that point... the guy who tried to run gets reduced to luggage... metaphor... the missed shot from sonny served to rob the group of any leadership. .. and then they're easy pickins... great great film... wouldnt have liked to be on set mind...

reply

Yes, good call about the metaphors.
