the japanese dvd is out in a single disc edition and limited double pack (NO BLOODY ENGLISH SUBS!!)
and there is a korean one i believe again with no subs (this is getting depressing)
if there is anyone out there who knows different let me know! Or if you know any release dates...?

There is a single disc Chinese DVD available with automatically translated English subtitles (no doubt from a computer program), which are often extremely bizarre (for example, rather than "Get out" the subtitles read "Roll me." Nonetheless, you can usually get the gist of the dialogue, if not the actual translations. And the transfer is excellent.

I guess it's kinda hard to understand a film with that kind of errors, huh... LOL.
Wait a second. If the movie is about an old japanese man getting drunk and just going ape *beep* (but also set to a serious dramatic tone) and the subtitles translate that way this seriously could be the best movie ever made. I can't wait to see it!
sharei just watched a DVD with english subtitles in Montreal as i speak. This is a legitimate version, not pirated by chinese or anything else. I rented it in a video club. I wonder if you could find it where you live.
shareYeah, the Hong Kong dvd has great subs. Even distinguishes between Japanese and Korean dialogue.
shareBlood and Bones came from tv little time ago and I didn't watch it because I didn't know it. No I'm sure it is good because it have Kitano and Hirofumi Arai, but R2 dvd is too expensive :(
