It seemed pretty obvious from their conversations that the kid was hers. Remember when the crazy slavic dude said "He didn't get that from me".
Why do women do crazy things? Who knows. The better question is why did she try to kill herself in the first place over that no good Yugo and why was she still with him even after she found out.
