Phil Anselmo! What!

Why the hell is Phil Anselmo in this film taking about the hardcore movement. This guy was teasing his hair whit hairspray, wearing spandex, and singing in a cheesy hair metal band called Razor White when this *beep* was happening. Sure he played in Pantera but does that give him the street credibility to discuss this movement...I think NOT! Guess this is what happened to the hardcore movement, it went metal! The beginning of the end.

That's hilarious! I totally agree. Phil had big hair and was belting out hi-pitched, Iron Maiden type, operatic trills in the early 80's. I think Hank III (band mate fron Superjoint Ritual and Hank Williams' grandson) is more punk than Phil. Very strange that either of them were in this film.

Where was Jello? How do you do this movie without Jello Biafra!?!?!? They definitely needed more on DK than TSOL. That was a laugh. Sure TSOL started Hardcore but went on to be a hair-metal band. I mean they went real low, Guns and Roses & Mötley Crüe low(posers).

If you are going to include bands that started hardcore and then moved on to other genres you should include good bands. I'm talking Suicdal Tendencies! Why were they not listed in the LA scene? I think there was only a D.R.I. logo in the film but no mention (DK got the same treatment). Lots of stuff missing from this film.

Phil was a fan of both growing up. His crowd were both harcore and metal, regardless of what music his band was playing.

Suicidal Tendencies were mentioned in the LA scene....a couple of them were interviewed also.

DRI were mentioned, but they aren't from LA, so they were included in the Texas scene, which is where they were from.

Indeed it was a great disappointment that there were no "special time" for the DK and the Misfits...No matter how well each of the two bands fitted or not in the hardcore scene, they surely had to be given a whole lot more time.

As for Anselmo.....who cares!?

Alot of punks who wanted a real career in music went into metal. It's possible Phil either played in a punk band or was just heavily influenced by punk and was a regular at shows.

Phil Anselmo talks like hes had a frickin labotamy. I used to love pantera back around vulgar display and far beyond driven but heroin completly ruined any punk rock ethic he might have had. if they were gonna get an opinion from him they were about 14 years too late. at the very least.

~~~Yes..so very alive..and full of goo...MISSION GOO!!~~~
Not to mention that he was so stoned that he was incoherent.
