Punk Is Dead...

is not only an amazing song by Slapshot but it is true.

"Punk [And/Or Hardcore] is Dead" means that the real anger/aggression that went into this style music no longer exists. Instead, there are a bunch of fabricated Myspace/LJ types or how could I forget about Mosh girl. Come on, seriously.

Of course the music lives on in some form and there will continue to be good bands but who could never touch the originals plus this genre of music is not exactly the hardest to play so why not just stick to the tried true.

BTW thrash > hardcore

That's not true.

"I thought of grindcore as a return to a more extreme punk. This music was another step into outlaw territory beyond any aggressive music heard before." - John Peel
