interview with the musician

This movie's music is particularly interesting because it draws from local ethnic traditions. In the case of the Mexican story, the inspiration is the magical-realism-evoking Sandunga. For Cuba, it is Yoruba drums playing for Yemanjá (goddess of the ocean). Throughout the Morocaan story, the Koran chants are gradually westernized as the girl crosses the chasm and reaches Europe.

We interviewed Héctor Ruiz, the musician for this movie. You can find the audio interview (in Spanish) at http://hablemosdecine.com/?p=90. Hope you enjoy it!
