What a great little film!

Went to see this film last night down the West End,UGC.The film was kinda sad, but really funny and the 2 actors, especially the smaller one out of the 2 was phenomonel. He definately looked the part and played it well. What i liked about it was how sweet and almost childlike they were as they went around trying to score and getting into all sorts of scrapes. You definately felt for the 2 main characters and the Bulgarian' scene was hilarious as it unfolded. Its also reflected that people in their situation,do still maintain morals and a code, despite being at the bottom of the pile so to speak, which i think is true and very important for people to see.

I didnt laugh at all. But i guess its not really a comedy, dark or otherwise). I didnt rent it but apparently it was in the comedy section.

I wanted to slit my wrists by the end of it. I was so depressed after watching it. But I watched it none the less. Im not going to rate it one way or the other as I dont think I can.

Another poster stated that if you are going through a situation similar to what Adam and Paul were going through that it probably *would* depress you!

I saw this film last nite for the first time - how sad it is :( i loved it though but didn't really find it that funny, except for the scene with the bulgarian man! But all i kept thinking was "Imagine if you had to live your life like that" I know have a lot more sympathy for junkies.

This is one of my favourite films. I had to watch it again. I love the contrast between the stark reality of the environment and the dreamy quality that Adam and Paul share. Fine acting. Brilliant script. Likely to be in my all-time top ten movies.

This most definitely was a comedy. It was absolutely hilarious. I cried with laughter. However, if you're not Irish, and specifically, if you're not from Dublin, I can understand how it appears to be a sad movie.

But with the Dublin sense of humour, this is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. The little fella getting hit by the moped had me in stitches, I had to keep replaying it - and even knowing what was coming, had me laughing my head off every single time.

That and the line "I had to leave Sofia"... "Why - pregnant, was she?" has to be one of the funniest lines ever.

Too many funny bits to list them all.
Dont take it seriously, laugh at the absurdity of it.

"Who the *beep* are you?"
"Klank!"
"Ah Klank! Its very nice to meet you"

Excellent.

I'm not from Dublin, but you seem to have missed the part about two desperate, dying junkies, which is a fairly universal story and certainly depressing if you have a heart. From the look of Paul's leg and how massively infected it became, he would be joining Adam on the other side in short order. Not to deny there are some very funny moments but jeez...

Great writing :D congratulations Mark!!!

You don't need to be from Dublin to get this so called "Dublin sense of humour", it's typical black Irish humour nothing specific or localised about it (cept the fact it's set in Dublin which unfortunately, let's face it, is the most obvious place to set a story about two junkies in Ireland.) The writer's from Clare. Just want to clear that up.

Yeah this was one of my favorite films that I love to watch over and over again!!

I loved this film. Just thought it was beautiful. It's so nice to see something from these parts that's decent. It's like you can appreciate it on a whole other level. Lenny Abrahamson (the director) visited our film class. He deserves a lot more attention than he gets, I think.

Not less because in purple I descended...
Not less was I myself

Its a dark film especially the last 15 minutes and the scene in the park which is so sad.The ending is bleak but the life of the junkie is a sad one, i think the ending for a dark comedy is very bleak and i wasn't surprised this film didn't do that well in the cinema but was giving great reviews.

It's a depressing tale all right but how could you make a happier than larry movie about two people in their situation. was definitely a few funny moments like the one with the Bulgarian man but sad movie overall i suppose its sad because its realistic
