And so the Sun resumes its peaceful orbit around the Earth.
Seriously, what the hell was the story's point? You can stop a supernova by rectifying an equation? Or don't worry, it's not going to go supernova 'cos I got an equation o' mine wrong? That doesn't change anything; it's still happening.
If they had a part where they fired a missile at the sun, or planned a space mission, it might have made more sense. And staying underground to escape it? Wrong. Supernovas completely destroy whole solar systems. No one would survive.
But the destruction parts of the movie were reasonably good, although the special effects could've done with improvements.
By the way, where was that desert that got hit just before Sydney and the Taj Mahal were destroyed? Did it say at all?
